A set of nine videos; audio/visual field recordings documenting sites within walking distance of one another in East Hollywood.
Like a book of photos, each video in the series is a complete work, but together they form a greater whole. Each video reveals a different street and its particular rhythms. Though it comes out of a desire to make a portrait of Los Angeles, its small scale and simple means make it life-sized as opposed to monumental—a study of a neighborhood, not a city symphony.
Like a record, videos can be viewed in sequence or favorite videos, like favorite songs, can be played again and again.
